Xtampak - Palacio, relief carvings
The overlay of Catherwood's drawing on the horizontal section of the relief carving was a close match. The same could not be said for the rest of the carving that has been only partially restored. The pieces of stone that have been reassembled are arranged in a seemingly random order. I saw many more pieces lying on the ground in front of this section of the palace. Catherwood's engraving could be put to good use as a guide in a proper reassembly of this carving.
